Kate’s baby bro spills beans
James gives away some tantalising secrets about duchess on TV show
IKE any entrepreneur, he has to grasp every opportunity to boost his business. So when James Middleton was asked about the Duchess of Cambridge during an interview about his new venture on US TV, he probably couldn’t believe what a sweet deal he was getting.
The 27-year-old appeared on ABC’s top-rated show Good Morning America yesterday to unveil his sweet company Boomf, which sells personalised marshmallows.
But he had another tantalising treat in store for viewers – titbits about his sister Kate.
Middleton revealed that she is “on the mend” after suffering from severe morning sickness during her second pregnancy.
He went on to boast how he wanted to be a “cool uncle” to Prince George, and also confided that Kate and William’s dog Lupo was a wedding present from him.
After he described himself as the “wonka-in-chief ” of his new business, the questioning soon veered on to the topic of the duchess’s health.
He said: “She’s better. It’s not unknown she’s suffering from acute morning sickness, fortunately I think she’s on the mend.”
And there was also time to chat fondly about his sister’s wedding. He said: “The most wonderful thing about that wedding which will stay with me forever was that, although billions were watching, it felt like a family wedding.
“I suffered most of my life with dyslexia, and for the reading I felt absolutely terrified.
“My little treat for them was to give
Lthem a puppy, and Lupo was their gift.”
Asked by presenter Amy Robach about the birth of Prince George in 2013, he agreed it was “surreal”.
Middleton said: “The most wonderful thing is everybody was celebrating with us; me becoming an uncle and my parents becoming grandparents. They were all so excited.
“Like any uncle, I want to be the cool uncle; I want to be the fun uncle – what shall we get him for Christmas this year; how can we stand out?
“I think there’s a long way to go to be a cool uncle. I’m trying to be as best as I can.” He added he has not yet decided what to get his nephew for Christmas.
The chief executive of Republic, the group that wants to abolish the monarchy, accused Middleton of “cashing in” on his connections.
Graham Smith said: “Clearly, he is exploiting his family connections.
“Commercial exploitation of that connection is inappropriate.
“But I would say he is doing it with the OK of the family.”
“Cashing in on family connections is what the royal family is all about,” Smith said. The Duchess’s sister, Pippa Middleton, is also forging a stateside career, with a possible deal with the NBC network.
