Kelly and Bhaka get cosy in the back-seat

- CHARLES KHUZWAYO

THE wife of a well-known Durban traditional healer was this week forced to watch helplessly as her husband drove off in his car with controversial musician Kelly Khumalo.

Jabu, who is married to flamboyant healer and Maskandi musician Zamokwakhe “Bhaka” Nzama, was left standing at their home as Khumalo and Nzama drove off in his red Audi A5 at midnight on Thursday.

The pair was in the backseat while Khumalo’s sister, Zandi, sat in front with Nzama’s driver.

The incident happened at Nzama’s Malvern home where the wealthy healer had thrown a birthday party for Zandi.

According to people who attended the party, Khumalo and Nzama wore matching white outfits. Khumalo arrived in a short white dress and a long coat, while Nzama wore a black and white blazer and white shoes.

Guests at the party said the two spoke to each other throughout the night, while Nzama’s wife looked on. Jabu did nothing as her husband left with the Khumalo sisters, driving up to Joburg.

Isolezwe, Saturday Star’s sister newspaper, learnt that Nzama booked the Khumalo sisters into the Hilton Hotel in Sandton when they arrived in Joburg.

Reliable sources say that Nzama was booked into the same hotel.

This comes a few days after a cosy picture of Khumalo and Nzama relaxing at the Saxon Hotel in Joburg, was posted on a social network site.

The picture infuriated Nzama’s fans. They urged him to stay away from the “troubled” star, saying he too would have the same fate as Khumalo’s previous lovers.

Khumalo made inter national headlines in October last year after her footballer boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa was gunned down in an apparent botched robbery at Khumalo’s mother’s home in Vosloorus.

Zanokuhle Mbatha, from Vosloorus was arrested but a murder charge was later withdrawn.

No arrests have since been made.

Meyiwa, the father of Khumalo’s youngest child, was traditionally married to Mandisa Khumalo and was in an on-off relationship with the singer for two years.

Khumalo’s previous boyfriend and the father of her eldest child, rapper Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, is serving a 10-year jail term after being involved in a car crash that led to the deaths of four children.

Maarahanye and co-accused Themba Shabalala were found guilty on four counts of murder, two of attempted murder and one of driving while under the influence of drugs after a drag race in Soweto that killed four pupils in 2010 and left two others brain damaged.

Another of her exboyfriends, music promoter and businessman Prosper Mkwaiwa, was last year involved in a car accident. It left him wheelchair bound.
