Popular retirement conference is back

The decisions you make or fail to make about your retirement are likely to have a huge impact on your life, and making the right choices is key.

To guide you to the best retirement decisions, Personal Finance and Alexander Forbes have again teamed up to bring you Ready Set Retire – a one-day conference to be held around the country in March – and retirement planning club sessions dealing with topics in more depth throughout the year.

The conference and club meetings were extremely popular last year.

The Ready Set Retire conference will be held on March 5 in Port Elizabeth, March 9 in Cape Town, March 11 in Johannesburg, and March 17 in Durban.

The programme includes a tax and legislative update from Alexander Forbes’s tax expert Jenny Gordon, insights into investing for retirement by Gareth Johnson from Investment Solutions, former Personal Finance editor Bruce Cameron on retirement decisions, Anthea Towert of Alexander Forbes Health on the costs of health care in retirement, and John Anderson of Alexander Forbes on understanding the realities of your retirement decisions.

In addition, Masterchef judge Chef Benny will give you an insight into eating smarter, especially in retirement, and Cathy Yuill, a professional coach, will show you how you can repurpose your life after you retire.

Booking for the conference, through Computicket, is open. Tickets cost R250, but if you book by February 10, you can pay the “early bird” price of R200.
