New movie a ‘rollercoaster ride’

people. Dakota has a vulnerability about her, but she is also very sassy and has a quiet strength that is needed for Anastasia. It has been an extraordinary experience to watch Jamie grow and bring Christian out of him. He has a vulnerable side too, and in Fifty Shades Darker he shows it very well. James is amazing! It is such a pleasure to watch him work because he is so professional and really knows what he is doing. He lets the actors breathe in their roles – which is very apparent as you watch the movie being filmed – and everybody else does their thing. What I love about James is that he’s very collaborative and it’s just great to work with someone who is very truthful. I think it will look very cool. John Schwartzman, our cinematographer, read the books and wanted to warm everything up, because his passion is to make women look amazing. Nelson just went for it! When he showed me what he was preparing for the masquerade scene I thought, “This wasn’t what I had in mind, but boy it looks good!” He took what I had written for that moment to a whole other level and made it erotic, rich with colour, and with people in the most extraordinary costumes. It’s a rollercoaster ride with a lot going on and some stellar performances. I think they should expect some thrills and a good villain in Jack Hyde, played by Eric Johnson, who is the nicest “Mr Nasty” you will ever meet and a joy to work with. It’s such an honour! I’m humbled by the response and so grateful to the fan base for sticking with Fifty Shades. It’s wonderful. – UIP
