CAPE TOWN

Sandwiched among antique stores, surf shops and bars, Olympia Café & Deli is situated on Kalk Bay’s Main Road, where it boasts stunning views of the ocean. The rustic and delicious dishes are seaside-inspired and change according to season and the catch of the day. If you happen to stop by, expect bowls of creamy garlic and wine mussels, Portuguese steak rolls, pasta and freshly baked pastries, and artisanal breads.

JOHANNESBURG

Serving up healthy and delicious Jewish-inspired food, Eat Your Heart Out serves up wholesome favourites from shakshuka and latkes to bagels and hot pastrami on rye. The menu offers gluten free, fat-free and vegan friendly items, with a selection of sweet treats from the counter top. Downtown Johannesburg, in the famous Maboneng Precinct, is where you can find them.

DURBAN

Founded on a passion for all things authentically Italian, Old Town Italy is a slice of Europe situated on Meridian Drive in Umhlanga Rocks. Tables and chairs spill out onto the pavement, where patrons sip cappuccinos and indulge in food selected from the Italian Street Food and deli section. There you’ll find fresh salads, antipasti dishes and roasted free-range chickens, as well as traditional Italian classics such as lasagne and melanzane alla parmigiana. Their layout is market inspired and in one trip you can visit the butchery for local, grass-fed meat, sample cheese from their counters to pair with their delicious selection of artisanal bread from the bakery.
