Britain to build super-fast computer
LONDON: The University of Edinburgh in Scotland won funding of $104 million (R1.7billion) this week to build a super computer capable of processing 10000 trillion calculations every second.
The new national supercomputer will be five-times quicker than current capabilities.
Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond announced the funding in parliament, saying it would help maintain Britain’s reputation as a pioneering and leading nation as it leaves the EU. | ANA
