Chrissy teigen’s lifestyle offering

The celebrity is broadening her reach and we’re absolutely loving every bit of it

-

WHETHER it’s a witty tweet or recipe for sesame chicken noodles, we’ve got a serious craving for anything and everything Chrissy Teigen has to offer.

Sauntering down red carpets and across magazine covers, celebrities are the absolute embodiment of perfection to those of us watching from behind our screens. But, as it so often happens, when their careers are on the decline and the reality TV route fails, the next move always seems to be starting their own lifestyle brand. They have our loyal following, so why shouldn’t they broaden their reach?

From Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company, to

SACHA VAN NIEKERK

Blake Lively’s Preserve to the holy grail of lifestyle brands, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, many a celeb has tried venturing down the “lifestyle” mogul path.

It’s enticing to think we are being let in on our idol’s most coveted secrets to good health, wealth and happiness. Yet, on the other hand, there’s something insufferable about their minimalist newsletters touting organic baby food products, eye cream made from fruit stem cells and grapeseed oil, and the notion that hot yoga is the solution to all of life’s stresses.

As convincing as the posts on their various websites may seem, we aren’t fooled. With their stylists on speed dial and dermatologist, personal trainer and cook at their beck and call, it almost feels like a huge scam, as much as we’d like to believe a night serum could magically remove eye bags, stretch marks and, for that price, perhaps even pay off our mortgages.

Here’s where Chrissy Teigen comes in. The former model turned author, designer, sensational Twitter personality and lifestyle mogul is the “anti-goop”.
