THE JOBURG PRAWN FESTIVAL

This year’s Prawn Festival will be held at Turffontei­n Racecourse in the south of Johannesbu­rg today.

Visitors to the festival can enjoy a portion of 12 succulent queen prawns with a side of chips, rice and a sauce which will be available for just R125.

The festival will also coincide with one of the major race days on the horse racing calendar: the third and final leg of the Triple Crown and Wilgerbosd­rift Triple Tiara series.

The Prawn Festival will start at 11am and entrance is free.

NIGHT OF 1 000 DRAWINGS

This weekend you can buy some artwork and support a charitable cause at the same time. The Night of 1 000 Drawings will be held today in Lorentzvil­le, Johannesbu­rg.

The event brings together artists, art enthusiast­s and collectors under the same roof for an exhibition which will raise funds for child education. The artworks will be sold at R150 per piece.

Food, beverages and entertainm­ent will be available. The Night of 1 000 Drawings will start at 4pm.

Tickets cost R100 per person and are available through Webtickets.

THE LEGO EXPO

The LEGO Expo will be held in Johannesbu­rg this weekend for both children and adults to enjoy.

The event at Northmead Square in Benoni today and tomorrow will showcase more than 100 LEGO displays.

There will also be various creations and collection­s which are all built out of LEGO.
