Wilder tears into ‘donkey’ Whyte over drugs test

DEONTAY Wilder has branded Dillian Whyte a “cheat” and “Donkey of the Year” after it was alleged that the British heavyweight failed a drugs test prior to Saturday’s win over Oscar Rivas.

Whyte reportedly tested positive for “at least two banned substances” by UK Anti Doping on July 17.

The British Boxing Board of Control allowed the fight to go ahead according to legal protocol pending B sample tests and appeals. If Whyte’s B sample is negative then he would be cleared of any wrongdoing.

The ‘Body Snatcher’ was in line for a massive payday and title shot against Wilder but the American posted a lengthy tirade in reaction to the news.

He wrote: “Now here you have a fighter that has been recently reported of taking PED’S (Performance Enhancements Drugs).

“In fact it was said he had over more than 1 substance in his body. This fighter has been caught before using PED’S so this is his second attempt.

“This s*** has to stop... The bleeding has to stop somewhere, we just had a fighter to f ****** die in the ring because of taking too many blows to the head and you have idiots like Dillian Whyte who want to CHEAT just to come up in his career because he’s not good enough to do it alone,” Wilder added in reference to Maxim Dadashev’s death on Tuesday from brain injuries.

He continued: “Oscar Rivas was his opponent that Dillian fought recently on drugs in which Oscar dropped this drug user and almost beat him, so Mr Whyte all that and the s*** half way worked you still got put on your ass!!! I’d get my money back!!!

“He’s been claiming to want to fight me but the question is, if you’re doping with a non champion just imagine what you will try to use if you had the chance to fight me? (Overdose).

“Him and his promoter Eddie Hearn gave the WBC Boxing & Mauricio Sulaiman hell while all along this MF has been cheating, smh then have the audacity to try and snitch on his countryman and accuse him of doing drugs when he himself is doing it as well.

“On top of that his promoter tried his best to cover this up before Whyte’s recent fight.

“Somebody come and look at this s***... I get criticised about saying things like ‘Ima kill you’ and mean it but without any substance whatsoever in my body but here you have so many fighters, the likes of Dillian Whyte that flood their body with PED’S just to advance to the next level, while committing an attempt to murder but want to speak against PED users smh, GTFOH.

“Lmao... boxing’s a place where you can hate it but love it all at the same damn time. Donkey Of The Year!!!”

On Wednesday night, Whyte’s promoter Hearn tweeted: “Further to reports I can confirm that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas were subject to extensive VADA and UKAD testing for their bout. Both fighters were cleared to fight by both bodies and the BBBOFC (British Boxing Board of Control).”

Whyte was previously banned for a failed test in 2012, a fact Wilder referred to in his message.

A banned stimulant was detected in his system after a win against Sandor Balogh and he was banned from the sport for two years.

Meanwhile, Andy Ruiz Jnr has warned he will refuse to rematch Anthony Joshua in the UK as he fears a “set-up”.

The Mexican shocked the world on June 1 when he stopped Joshua in the seventh round to become WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO champion of the world.

And reacting to the news of Whyte’s alleged failed drugs test, Ruiz Jnr posted a tweet saying: “I’m not going to the UK for the rematch #issasetup.”

Ruiz feels the fight should not have taken place with doubt over Whyte’s tests.

He replied to a fan asking if he had genuinely been put off coming to the UK.

“At the end of the day I just want a fair playing ground. The fact that Rivas had no idea about it is a bit sketchy. I will and want to fight AJ next no ifs or maybes about that,” he clarified.

The 29-year-old later added: “I love everyone’s passion for boxing on Twitter.

“I appreciate the people who can argue without insulting those are the people I will always reply to. It’s all love.

“Whether the fight happens in the UK or the USA it will be another epic fight. Night.”

Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn, who promotes both Whyte and Joshua, has a headache if Ruiz Jnr digs his heels in and refuses to fight in the UK.

Wembley or Cardiff’s Principality Stadium have long been touted as the two most likely locations for what would be a career-defining fight for AJ.

The former Olympic champion was a massive favourite to cruise past Ruiz Jnr on his American debut at Madison Square Garden last month.

In the third round Joshua knocked his opponent down but then unravelled dramatically, hitting the canvas twice himself before the bell.

Disorientated and seemingly out of ideas against his smaller, faster opponent, Joshua continued to struggle and was knocked down twice more.

He spat out his mouthguard and failed to adequately respond to the referee’s instructions, sparking wild celebrations from Ruiz Jnr who became the first Mexican heavyweight champion in history.

Ruiz had stepped in to take the fight on short notice after Joshua’s slated opponent Jarrell Miller failed a drugs test.

And with some bookmakers offering odds as long as 25/1 on the underdog, few gave him a chance, but ‘The Destroyer’ is now in a commanding negotiating position and talks between the two camps are still ongoing. | Daily Mail
