THE honour of “first and second school to enter the inaugural Twizza Super School Series” goes to Uitsig High School, Centurion, Pretoria, and Paarl Boys’ High School.

“We are excited to welcome Uitsig High School and Paarl Boys’ High School to the inaugural Twizza Super School Series. If the speed at which they entered is anything to go by, then we expect great results from these two schools,” says Ajee Valentine, Twizza national sponsorshi­p manager.

“The goal of the Twizza Super School Series is clear – we want to crown SA’S best athletics school. We look forward to witnessing exceptiona­l teamwork while experienci­ng a thrilling atmosphere and making memories. We’d like to invite all schools to be part of the action, enter the Twizza Super School Series today and #Tastethemo­ment.”

The Twizza Super School Series Regional Qualifier 1 will take place at the Bestmed Tuks Athletics Stadium on Thursday, September 19, while the Regional Qualifier 2 will take place at the Green Point Athletics Stadium on Saturday, October 5. From here the Top 40 schools will head to the Bestmed Tuks Athletics Stadium on Saturday, February 1, 2020, where they will #Tastethemo­ment in the Grand Finale.

The Twizza Super School Series Grand Finale will boast an energetic cultural element with live performanc­es from performing arts groups that stem from the Top 40 qualifying schools. Groups and schools can look forward to taking home exciting prizes.

ENTRY REQUIREMEN­TS:

Each school will be required to enter a team of 15 athletes across two age groups U-16 and U-19.

Categories will include:

Girls Competitio­n, Boys Competitio­n and Mixed Competitio­n.

100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1 500m, short hurdles, long hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shotput, discus and javelin for age groups 16 &19.

Free for competing schools.
