WHERE TO EAT
SPILL
The concept here is simple: Chef Mohlin buys products that distributors are about to toss but are still fully usable and uses them to prepare creative meals.
The minimalist space ensures that nothing distracts from the beautiful and tasty – and righteous – fare.
Open on Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm; lunch served from 11am to 2pm. From about $10 (R147).
MEETING PLACE AT HALLAKRA VINEYARD

Three-course prix fixe dinners from about $48; about $37 additional for wine pairings.
CARE/OF BAR
Imaginative cocktails, including some made with aquavit, a classic Scandinavian schnapps, are the attraction at this moody, stylish drinking den. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm to late. Cocktails from about $13 and French bistro-inspired snacks like cheese plates, rillette and foie gras from about $12.
LYRAN
Local ingredients are the calling card at this laid-back eatery with rustic-chic furniture and a dramatic open kitchen. Small plates of creative, whimsical fare are as pretty as they are tasty. An interesting selection of non-alcoholic drinks is on offer.
Open Tuesday to Saturday, 5.30pm to midnight; closed Sunday and Monday. Prix fixe about $63; about $58 additional for wine pairing; about $29 for non-alcoholic drink pairing.
BISHOPS ARMS
Like the dozens of other Bishops Arms locations around Sweden, the Gustav Adolfs Torg outpost of this national pub chain has an English pub-like look and feel. Unlike the rest of them, this one spotlights craft beers made in the facilities of the brewing collective Minus-1, which is located in the same building. Open Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 1am; Saturday, 1pm to 1am, and Sunday, 3pm 11pm.
Beers from about $8.
MALMO BREWING CO AND TAPROOM
At any given time, 15 of the 42 beers on tap at this vibrant, cheery taproom are made in-house. Open Monday to Thursday, 4pm to midnight; Friday, 4pm to 3am; Saturday, noon to 3am, Sunday, 4pm to midnight. Beers from about $8. Bar bites like pulled-pork burgers from about $11.50.
