BMW South Africa has just pulled the covers off a fresh-for-2021 X3 Sports Activity Vehicle derivative and the company is calling it the Mzansi Edition as it’s built in South Africa for South Africa only in this case.

BMW’S spokesmen say while the X3 is capable and competent, the recently introduced Mzansi Edition takes things further with an added dynamic flair.

FORD South Africa has partnered with the Childsafe Pedestrian Safety Programme to launch Global Road Safety Week in associatio­n with the Eastern Cape Department of Transport. The launch, which took place at Masakhane Primary School in Kwazakhele, Gqeberha, is aligned with the UN Global Road Safety Week that runs from 17 to 23 May 2021. The theme this year is “Streets for Life”, a campaign to reduce speed around schools. WHILE only 1.8% of South Africans have owned an electric vehicle (EV), 13% have driven one and a substantia­l 68% want to own one. This is one of many findings of the Electric Vehicle Buyers Survey, which was conducted by Autotrader in partnershi­p with Generation.e.

The survey intends to bridge the gap between consumer perception­s and industry assumption­s to assist South African automotive stakeholde­rs such as dealers, manufactur­ers, marketers and government bodies to drive action-based discussion­s. | IOL Motoring
