OMBUD APPOINTMENT

The Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana, has appointed Advocate John Simpson as the new Ombud for Financial Services Providers (Fais Ombud). He replaces Thobile Masina, who has been the acting ombud since September

13. In a release this week, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority said: “Having served as a magistrate, general manager (Ombudsman for Banking Services), legal consultant and recently a full-time member of the National Consumer Tribunal, Simpson brings a wealth of experience to the role. His appointment is for a period of two years, effective November 1.”
