Abramjee scoops Sanparks Kudu Award
MEDIA personality Yusuf Abramjee has received a 2021/2022 Kudu Award from the South African National Parks (Sanparks) in the category “Media Contribution to Conservation and Ecotourism” for his Crime Watch show on ENCA (DSTV 403) focusing on rhino poaching.
Abramjee received the “Best In-depth Television News Feature Award”.
This is “in recognition of his in-depth programmes around rhino and elephant poaching both in the Kruger National
Park and Pilansberg area. These wellresearched investigative documentaries go a long way to highlighting this vital issue to a broad audience,” said Sanparks in presenting the award.
The Kudu Awards were presented at a gala dinner at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg, on Thursday evening.
Abramjee said he “was honoured and humbled to receive the award”.
“We all have to join hands and fight rhino poaching. I’m happy that our series of shows on Crime Watch placed the spotlight on the problem and highlighted what Sanparks and others are doing.
“Save the rhino!” he said to loud applause, after being presented with the award.
