St Andrew’s girls score big
1. Congratulations to Phoebe Hsiao, a Grade 7 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls, on being awarded a medal as category winner classical music violin own choice, Grade 7.
Phoebe was also selected as the showcase performer.
In addition, she received an Ambassador Award for outstanding achievement as one of the top 3% performers for violin own choice Grade 7 as well as the Prestige Award for best junior achievement classical music.
2. Congratulations to Vivian Yan, a Grade 12 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls, on being awarded a gold medal as category winner for piano own choice in the senior section.
3. Congratulations to Sarah Adank, a Grade 11 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls, on being awarded a gold medal as category winner vocal own choice Grade 11 as well as the Ambassador Award as one of the top 3% performers for vocal solo own choice Grade 11.
4. Acacia-cailyn Abell, a Grade 4 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls, has qualified for the u12b Interprovincial Eastern Gauteng netball team which will play in the Cape Town Nationals in March. Although Acacia-cailyn is only 10 years old, she will be playing with mostly 12-year-olds in this group. Acacia-cailyn also participated in her first Level 3/SANJ gala last weekend, where she placed third in the 400m freestyle.

– Kelsey-erin Gems (indoor netball), Cara CONGRATULATIONS to Kerryn Herbst, a Grade 10 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls, on her selection by Swimming South Africa to race in the Fina World Cup in Tokyo on November 9, 10 and 11. Kerryn is entered in four events – the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke and the 50m butterfly.
