SUSTAINABLE MENU

-

HOW can the world feed nearly 10 billion people by 2050 in ways that help fight poverty, meet climate goals and reduce environmental pressures? Eat less beef and lamb, level off population growth, cut food waste, limit biofuels and increase fish supply through wild fisheries management and aquaculture, among others. This is part of a five-course menu of solutions in a report by the World Resources Institute, a global sustainability think-tank, this week. It suggests it is possible to produce 56% more food on the same amount of land, while lowering greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds. | Sheree Bega
