President denies using body double
ASSURING your electorate that you are alive and that a body double is not being used to impersonate you does not tend to be a high priority for presidential hopefuls.
Yet this is the situation that Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been forced to confront before a presidential election in February.
Nnamdi Kanu, a Biafran secessionist leader, had circulated the rumour on social media that Buhari, who spent more than five months of his first four-year term abroad for medical treatment, had died and been replaced by “Jubril from Sudan”. |
