Activist acquitted of ‘insurrection’

A RWANDAN court has acquitted opposition figure and activist Diane Rwigara of all charges against.

“I knew all along that I was innocent and the charges were fabricated,” Rwigara, 37, said after the ruling in the capital Kigali.

The Us-educated activist faced a possible 22-year sentence for inciting insurrection against the government and allegedly forging signatures of support in order to run for president. |
