ECEMBER fever is in the air. Many of us are preparing our homes for visitors, for the holidays and, hopefully, for celebrations.

Some of our readers tell us they’d had a tough year and indeed we have all felt it on our pockets and in the pace of change many of us have encountered.

On the upside, if you are reading this, you have survived whatever life has dealt you.

Now it is time to take off your shoes, let down your hair, put on party music, make your home come alive with joy, light the candles, put away the to-do list (just for today) and be in the moment.

If the children are giving you a hard time, the in-laws are up to their old tricks, if people you love are sick, if you are facing a major challenge, whatever the pitfalls that seem to be more pronounced at this time of the year, look around and maybe you will also appreciate the many gifts which abound everywhere.

Remember, 2019 is around the corner, brimming with hope and possibilities. Make sure your home is a haven to welcome it all.
