Education leaves much to be desired

- MARTIN LEVY

EDUCATION, knowledge and success in life is the aim of every parent for his or her child.

What schools are producing, the type of human beings they are turning out, leaves much to be desired. The 30% pass level will never produce intelligent, productive leaders. A change of subjects is needed. Maybe it’s time to introduce sociology and psychology rather than old subjects like history and geography. This will help bring in a better human being.

The pass mark should be 40%. It’s no use pushing them from grade to grade and producing “dumbers”. It will be better to fail them as “failing is a stepping stone to success” and will produce a better child in the long run.
