Letter from CEO of CemAir

-

Wishing you a very warm welcome aboard today’s flight. As always, we are delighted to have you with us, and I hope you are enjoying your CemAir experience.

This is the 2nd edition of our relaunched Skynews magazine in its Covid-19 friendly electronic format. It is also Spring, a time of hope and growth, and we look forward to a recovery of South Africa’s economy as the country emerges from one of the world’s most severe lockdowns.

South Africa’s migration to Level

2 in mid-August was received with a hearty and inviting welcome by the airline industry and more generally by the entire hospitality sector. The relaxation of interprovincial leisure travel restrictions offered some much-needed relief to thousands of business owners and tens of thousands of employees involved in this vital sector of our economy as these businesses welcomed back local tourists. After such an extensive and severe lockdown, and with still no date for the re-opening of SA’s borders to foreign travellers, many businesses in the sector have been pushed to the limit. And whilst we do not make light the lives lost as a result of the virus and those suffering from Covid-19 infections, this Country’s only hope of recovery is the life borne through an expansive and vibrant economy.

CemAir continues to operate international repatriation flights bringing South Africans home and assisting those with permissible reasons for international travel to leave. We are excited to announce that we are implementing working relationships with international carriers whose connecting flights to our network will assist travellers in hubbing through to Europe, North America, Asia or other African cities. These projects are well underway and we will announce their availability as they complete.

We are also very proud to once again include Margate into our domestic schedule network with flights to this airport from 04 September 2020. CemAir has been the sole service provider to this airport since the start of its service in 2013 and has been part of the community ever since. The destination has always been one of our favorite flights both because of the gorgeous

KZN South Coast and the wonderful and warm people who live in the region.

We realise there are diverging opinions regarding the extent of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the practicality and reasonableness of the measures required to limit its spread. At CemAir we remain committed to compliance and therefore cannot allow anything that does not meet the minimum requirement of the

Regulations. We ask for your co-operation in achieving this and assure you we will do all we can to minimize any inconvenience.

We continually strive to improve our service and your feedback is invaluable. Please let us know where we got it right for you and where we need to try a little harder. Please reach out through Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to share your experience or share directly by email to info@cemair.co.za. As the airline industry recovers CemAir aims to lead in providing comfort and value to South Africa’s regional centers and smaller cities.

I now invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy this copy of Skynews and wish you a spectacular stay at whichever beautiful South African destination you have chosen to travel to today. Thank you for flying with CemAir.
