Letter from CEO of CemAir
The final stretch of 2020 has finally arrived and we are so happy to welcome you on-board! Thank you for choosing FlyCemAir as your trusted carrier today. It is great pleasure to be of service to you and I hope that you are being taken care of in true CemAir style.
With the year-end holiday season upon us South Africa’s favourite destinations will be filling up with a wave of happy visitors. Many international destinations are unavailable, and we are hoping the local hospitality industry will enjoy some much-needed support. The country has such diversity and beauty to offer that every taste is catered for.
There can be no doubt that 2020 has been an extraordinary year and many will be pleased to bid it farewell with the hope of a better and healthier year to follow. The COVID-19 response of lockdowns brought many economies to a halt with catastrophic results for the travel industry. Your support today is saving jobs and creating hope for a family or two in their time of need. We salute you.
The lockdowns across the globe have created what is arguably one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our lifetime. Travel bans imposed with little or no notice caused hundreds of thousands of people to be stranded abroad with no way home. For some the situation became desperate as the weeks wore on, necessitating survival on charitable donations from local communities. We are proud of our effort to repatriate
2,000 South Africans from 26 countries across Africa and the Middle East during this period, perhaps a drop in the ocean when one considers the scale of the disaster but a valuable contribution nonetheless.
CemAir has many exciting plans for the upcoming period. The aviation industry has recently seen several changes and in a somewhat brutal way, this has created opportunities. Post-COVID we have expanded our domestic network to include George daily and Cape Town and Durban on peak days. In the coming months, we will launch regional flights which are expected to include Gaborone, Maputo, Lusaka, Luanda, Lagos and more. We remain loyal to our traditional routes such as Margate, Bloemfontein and Plettenberg Bay and we will look to build our presence in these amazing communities.
Please send us your feedback and let us know where we get things right for you and where we need to try harder. Reach out through Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin or directly by email to info@cemair.co.za.
As we move towards 2021 we look forward to a year of promise and from all of us at CemAir we wish you a healthy and prosperous year ahead.
