Art is Alive and Well at the Turbine

Aside from its luxury accommodation, the Turbine Boutique Hotel also has stunning original artworks adorning the walls – all by local South African artists, and all for sale, so if something catches your eye, you can take it home with you as a keepsake of your trip. The Knysna Fine Art gallery’s curator, Corlie de Kock, uses a specific approach in creating the collections for the Turbine, with works carefully selected to enhance the aesthetic of this unique space. “We take pleasure in assembling a body of contemporary artworks which will surprise and delight both art novices, and more sophisticated collectors,” she says. Some of the many South African artists featured in the various collections include Jenny Parrsons, Aidon Westcott, Jan Schutte, Arjan van Arendonk, Marie Kearney, Glen Green, John Michael Meterlerkamp and Brandon Z Perkus.
