Celebratin­g a Century of Flowers

The Darling Wildflower Show, from 14 to 17 September 2017, will be celebratin­g its 100th year and promises to be better than ever. Celebratin­g an integral part of the Cape Floral Kingdom – which comprises of fynbos such as renosterve­ld, rietveld, sandveld, and strandveld, and where over 1,200 different species of flowers can be found – the show will focus on the Wildflower Society’s developmen­t over the past century. This, as well as the Herbarium Project and a variety of fun activities to entertain the whole family, will have visitors enthralled for the whole weekend. Food and craft stalls, a play area for children, as well as a Mini wine Route and Beer Tent for adults will ensure that there is never a dull moment. Entrance fees will go towards the conservati­on of the endangered floral kingdom so that future generation­s can bask in the beauty of the wonderful flora that abounds in the Cape.
