Celebrating a Century of Flowers
The Darling Wildflower Show, from 14 to 17 September 2017, will be celebrating its 100th year and promises to be better than ever. Celebrating an integral part of the Cape Floral Kingdom – which comprises of fynbos such as renosterveld, rietveld, sandveld, and strandveld, and where over 1,200 different species of flowers can be found – the show will focus on the Wildflower Society’s development over the past century. This, as well as the Herbarium Project and a variety of fun activities to entertain the whole family, will have visitors enthralled for the whole weekend. Food and craft stalls, a play area for children, as well as a Mini wine Route and Beer Tent for adults will ensure that there is never a dull moment. Entrance fees will go towards the conservation of the endangered floral kingdom so that future generations can bask in the beauty of the wonderful flora that abounds in the Cape.
