The original Musgrave Gin is made up of a selection of 11 botanicals, each reflecting some aspect of the ancient African Spice Route. Musgrave Gin has expressive top notes of African ginger and cardamom, while the citrus and other spices blend to tell a tale of flavour spanning a continent. With Musgrave 12, rose hip is added during the distilling process, and the expressive cardamom and obligatory juniper contributions are softened so as not to mask the gentle perfume of the roses. A further infusion of rosewater adds a subtly exotic perfume and flavour to this pink gin, which was awarded first place at the 2016 Michelangelo Wine and Spirits awards. It is a bold innovation and has taken hold of the South African market. Musgrave Gin can be found in bottle stores, bars, and restaurants across the country.
