Little Venice in Muizenberg
Casa Labia in Muizenberg near Cape Town was once the residence of Count and Countess Natale Labia, who lived there in the early 1920s. The architectural tribute to 18th century Venice is now home to Chef Monché Muller’s delicious culinary creations in the 80-seater restaurant on the estate, Cucina Labia. Italian flare graces the plates of the à la carte menu, which includes pistachio-pepper braaied tuna and wild mushroom arancini. Mains include stuffed turkey roulade, the famous Italian meatball burger, and nero pasta sheets with confit butternut and smoked feta, to name a few options. With choices such as deconstructed tiramisu and granadilla champagne mousse, dessert should certainly not be skipped. Every Saturday and Sunday between 13h00 and 16h00, talented pianist Jean-paul Grimaldi-lasserre graces the restaurant with his diverse musical repertoire.
