How high-quality should my home-gym equipment be?

-

It’s not really a question of quality, but more a question of frequency. Commercial gyms have industrial machines that can withstand near constant use, and obviously the cost of those machines reflects that. For a home gym, it’s unlikely that you’d need this level of machine. The bigger your budget, the more use you can get out of your home gym. The lowest level of use is about two hours per day, which is probably the most suited for a home gym. The next level up is light commercial equipment, which can take about four to five hours of use per day.
