The Won­der­ful World of Von­del­ing

Within the Paarl re­gion of the Western Cape Winelands, you will find the Paarde­berg (or more specif­i­cally, Voor-paarde­berg) re­gion – known not only for its rich his­tory, but also for the area’s nat­u­ral beauty, fauna and flora, and of course the ex­cep­tional wine pro­duced in the area.

One of the wine farms not to be missed when on the Paarde­berg wine route is Von­del­ing Wines. Not only is Von­del­ing one of the most pres­ti­gious wine farms in the area, pro­duc­ing wine from their own grapes since 2005, it is also renowned as a pop­u­lar wed­ding venue due to its glo­ri­ous set­ting and, more im­por­tantly per­haps, for the con­ser­va­tion in the area.

The Von­del­ing vine­yards run off the south­fac­ing slopes of the Paarde­berg Moun­tain where the de­com­posed gran­ite soil along with south-west­erly winds give the wines a sen­sa­tional vi­brancy. As a desti­na­tion, Von­del­ing in­cludes an his­toric Cape Dutch homestead, a wine-tast­ing room, as well as St Cle­ment’s Chapel, a beau­ti­fully built church and wed­ding venue.

Choos­ing the right wed­ding venue is of­ten the most chal­leng­ing part of any nup­tial plan­ning process. For those want­ing to get mar­ried in the Cape Winelands, few venues have more “wow fac­tor” than Von­del­ing Wines. This Bri­tish-owned win­ery is tucked away in the Voor-paarde­berg re­gion, and of­fers cou­ples the op­por­tu­nity to get mar­ried at one of the most in­ti­mate, not to men­tion unique, venues in the Cape.
