Kaizer Chiefs have a got a difficult but important decision to make in the coming weeks, with the club’s defeat in the Telkom Knockout meaning that their current trophy drought will stretch into - at least - 2019. The 2018/19 season is almost at its halfway point and Amakhosi have already missed out on the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout trophies. Domestically, the Absa Premiership and Nedbank Cup titles are still up for grabs and, although they are in the top five on the league table, sat in fifth position, it may be flattering. Given the fact that Chiefs have played a handful more games than most of the teams around them on the log, the gap with the frontrunners could widen while the teams sat just below them could leapfrog them.
