On the Telkom Knockout

The Telkom Knockout final that will take place at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth next weekend was a big enough motivation for Baroka FC when they played against Bidvest Wits in the semi-finals. Baroka is the first team from the Limpopo province to go into the final of a cup competition at this level. So it’s not only Baroka that are happy that they are in the final, but the entire province. The boys have given their all. Wits are a very strong side and if you were to ask anyone before the game who was going to win the game, they would have said Wits. Congratulations to Bakgaga and I know that they will beat Orlando Pirates in the final. We are the underdogs going into the final. I just hope that the supporters buy their tickets early. I am very happy that the police and security are working hand-in-hand to keep the supporters safe at the stadiums and I hope they will do the same in the final. But Baroka supporters will still celebrate even if the team lose the final because that will have been an achievement on its own. This game is slowly but surely becoming a one-sided affair, if you look at recent results. It still remains the biggest game in the league though, but Kaizer Chiefs needs to up their game, otherwise this game will be boring because the results always favour one team. That will also lead to the supporters losing interest in this match, and once that happens, then the attendance numbers will drop. Chiefs need to look at their defence and sort it out soon. Itumeleng Khune was right to say maybe some of the players at Chiefs don’t deserve to play for the club because, as a by stander, what I am seeing now is not the Chiefs I know. I hope they sort it out soon. God bless you all, Seroka
