Chiefs reluctant to sell Maluleka…
Siya sources have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs are not looking to entertain any offers for one of their key players.
It was reported by the Siya crew in December that Mamelodi Sundowns have reignited their interest in George Maluleka from the Soweto giants, this after the Brazilians were looking to land the player in a potential swap deal earlier on in 2018.
Siya sources indicated to the crew that coach Pitso Mosimane is keen to add Maluleka to his squad for the second half of the 2018/19 season, aiming to bolster their midfield department as they challenge for silverware both domestically and on the African continent.
However, with the transfer window having opened last week Wednesday, the Siya crew has been informed that Sundowns’ attempt to land Maluleka has been shunned away. Sources have revealed that the Soweto giants are reluctant to sell the 29-yearold and especially don’t want to lose the player’s services to their Absa Premiership rivals.
A Siya source close to the dealings explained, “Pitso (Mosimane) likes George (Maluleka), he wants him at (Mamelodi) Sundowns, but Chiefs have said that he is nor for sale.”
It is believed that the only way Chiefs will even consider a move for Maluleka is if they receive an offer that is too good to turn down, either as a cash offer or a proposed swap deal.
Chiefs extended Maluleka’s contract with the club in 2017, tying him down on a new deal that runs until June 30, 2020.
