Bidvest Wits’ Bafana Bafana international, Darren Keet, could well be on his way out of the club at the end of the season as he eyes a move overseas when his current deal expires.

According to Siya sources, the 29- year- old shot- stopper is currently assessing options in both Europe and the United States of America as he enters into the last six months of his contract with the Clever Boys, with a possible return to Belgium on the cards.

Belgian giants Club Brugge showed an interest in Keet prior to his return to the Premier Soccer League in 2016, while Major Soccer League outfit Minnesota United are also known to have been keeping tabs on him in the past as they considered a swoop for his signature.

Keet has impressed in South Af- rica since coming back home from KV Kortrijk, winning the Absa Premiership title, the MTN8 and the Telkom Knockout as well as picking up an award for Goalkeeper of the Season in 2017.

Now, having won every domestic trophy available in South Africa – he won the Nedbank Cup in 2010 with Wits – it appears that the Bafana man has ambitions of heading outside the country once more.

The Siya crew has been informed that, as things stand, Keet will not be signing a new deal at Wits. While his next destination remains unknown at this point in time, he will be eager to make sure that his standards don’t slip as he looks to maintain his place as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the league (8).
