Mvala’s form catches Amakhosi eyes

Soccer Laduma - - News -

Mothobi Mvala is in hot form in the Absa Premiership this season, and the Siya crew have been informed that his goalscoring exploits could have caught the eye of Kaizer Chiefs.

Mvala, despite being a midfielder, is the top scorer in the league so far this season with seven goals to his name, and the 24-year-old currently has four goals in his last six games for Highlands Park.

With Chiefs battling mid-table at present, it is thought that the Glamour Boys are willing to open up their chequebook in the current transfer window in order to give Ernst Middendorp the tools that he needs to end their barren run, and sources have suggested that Mvala’s name is one that has been mentioned.

Amakhosi are already thought to have almost tied up a deal for Bidvest Wits’ Reeve Frosler as they address the issue that they have at right back, and Mvala could well be seen as a strong – goalscoring – addition to their midfield.

Mvala has been incredibly loyal to the Lions of the North over the years, twice playing a role in helping them secure promotion out of the National First Division and into the topflight, and his 12 goals last season saw him land their Player of the Season award for his efforts.

The crew will continue to monitor Mvala’s situation over the course of the January transfer window, to see if Highlands are able to hold onto him or not. Chiefs were contacted for comment, however gave no response at the time of going to print.
