MASS EXODUS LOOMS FOR EA LLA KOTO?
News reaching the Siya crew is that a potential exodus of players is looming for Free State Stars, following the departure of coach Luc Eymael.
In an attempt to improve the team’s results, after a slow start to the 2018/19 season, Ea Lla Koto reached an agreement with Eymael to go their separate ways, this despite the mentor having led the side to Nedbank Cup triumph last season and guiding the team to a sixth place finish on the PSL log.
The Belgian tactician has since joined El Geish FC in the Egyptian Premier League. As part of the changes expected to take place at Ea Lla Koto later in the season, the club is said
to be considering releasing some of the players that were signed under Eymael but have not been playing regularly.
According to sources, Maboke Matlakala, Thabang Klaas, Sibusiso Hlubi and Sibusiso Masina, who was recently signed by the Bethlehem-based club after leaving Cape Town City, are some of the players that could be affected by the changes.
“The club is considering making changes to the squad in January in preparation of the second round of the season. The likes of Maboke Matlakala, Thabang Klaas, Si- busiso Hlubi and Sibusiso Masina could be released by the club. They were signed under the previous coach, but the club hasn’t been entirely satisfied with their contribution to the team,” said the source.
Stars are expected to make a decision this week, on who will be appointed to replace Eymael at the helm.
