SA QUINTET IMPRESS IN ENGLAND

-

Five young South Africans are currently training in England as they look to pursue their dreams of playing football overseas, and the teenagers look to have been doing well so far.

Katlego Moela, Tokollo Shabangu, Luthando Nkosi, Thembi Mkhwanazi and Khabelo Thaledi are all currently in England as part of the UK PRO Academy programme, and it appears that one of them in particular has already impressed people in the UK.

Kudakwashe Kasunzuma, of LeZ Sports Management, explained the current situation to the Siya crew.

Kasunzuma said, “The boys played their first game on Monday, and they won 4-2 against i2i International Football Academy... They’re finding it tough as the weather is against them, and the physicality of most of their opponents is extreme, but they are coping and adapting well.

“We have already started receiving interest for one of our boys from an English League One team, but for their academy side.”

Shabangu, Nkosi, Mkhwanazi and Thaledi are all 18 years old currently, while Moela is the baby of the group at just 15 years old, and all five of them will be eager to try and achieve their dream of making it as professional footballers.

The youngsters have until January to leave their mark in England before they return to South Africa and continue their mission to break through into the professional ranks in the future.
