Chiefs’ long-term Yeye plans…

-

Kaizer Chiefs fans may have been surprised to hear of their club’s interest in bringing Reneilwe Letsholonyane back to the club, but it appears that the Soweto giants are thinking more long-term when it comes to ‘Yeye’.

The Siya crew reported last week that the Glamour Boys had had discussions regarding the possibility of a Naturena return for the veteran midfield maestro, and want him on board once he decides to hang up his boots.

The 36-year-old spent nearly a decade at Naturena with the Glamour Boys before leaving in 2016 to join SuperSport United, a club with whom he went on to lift trophies under the mentorship of both Stuart Baxter and Eric Tinkler.

Now, with his current deal expiring in June and the player seeing a drop in his game-time under Kaitano Tembo, the crew has been led to believe that an exit from Tshwane could well be on the cards as he looks towards the end of his playing career.

It is thought that Letsholonyane has aspirations of going into coaching when he does opt to retire, and Siya sources have sug-

gested that Amakhosi want to get him involved due to the exemplary attitude and levels of professionalism that he has shown over the course of his career.

At this point in time, it remains to be seen whether a return for Letsholonyane will come to pass, thought supporters of the club will be pleased to see their club planning for the future rather than only focusing on the current.
