Pirates cash in on R18m for Foster?

-

Orlando Pirates appear to have done some excellent business with regards to their young starlet, Lyle Foster, with the 18-year-old having completed his move to French giants, AS Monaco.

Foster had been linked with a move to the French club for around a year and last year in October, the Siya crew revealed that he had agreed to a deal after turning 18 the month before, in September.

After spending time in France with the club last year, he is now able to begin life in Europe properly.

According to Siya sources, Pirates have been paid around R18 million by Monaco in return for the player’s signature, and will be pleased that they have seen a return on the player, having picked him up at the age of 12, six years ago.

The talented teen has already spoken of his joy at making the move, while also thanking the Buccaneers for the role they have played in helping him take a step closer to his dream.

He said on his official Instagram page, “A very exciting start to the new year… I would like to thank Orlando Pirates for giving me the opportunity to start my profes- sional career, my trainer club, the club that has moulded me nto the man I am today. “To be at the club since the age of 12 is something I’m really proud of and I will always be grateful Orlando Pirates. I’m ready to take this new step in my career and be a little closer to my dream with AS Monaco. I’m grateful for the opportunity and ready to fight for my dream.”

The crew did contact Pirates for confirmation of the reported price tag – around R18m – however, received no response by the time of going to print.
