SuperSport keen on Mohomi

-

News reaching the Siya crew is that SuperSport United have set their sights on a Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder as they look to bolster their squad during the January transfer window.

Lucky Mohomi has been linked with an exit from the Chloorkopbased club for several months, with Free State Stars believed to be keen on bringing him back to the team.

However, it has since been revealed to the Siya crew that Super- Sport have identified the midfielder as a potential target and that Matsatsantsa could be negotiating with Sundowns in the weeks to come.

Sundowns signed Mohomi from Ea Lla Koto in 2016, during the July/ August transfer window, though has struggled to break into the Brazilians’ first team set-up.

The 27-year-old has made just one domestic appearance for Sundowns all season, with indications that his time with the defending Absa Premiership champions is nearing its end, though he was on the bench against Chiefs last weekend.

It now seems that he could resurrect his career with Downs’ crosscity rivals. SuperSport are believed to be keen on handing the player a permanent deal, though a loan spell cannot be discounted.

Mohomi will see his contract with Sundowns come to an end on June 30; however, the Brazilians have a two-year option in place.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the two clubs will agree terms for the transfer of the player in the coming days, as an announcement from either side is expected to be made.
