Bucs mum on Chabalala?

-

Orlando Pirates seem to have remained silent on Justice Chabalala’s future, despite the player not seeing any action at the club. Apart from Brilliant Khuzwayo, who has been sidelined due to injury, Chabalala is the only other player from the current squad yet to play in an official match under Coach Milutin Sredojevic.

According to sources in the know, the player’s camp has attempted to discuss his future with Bucs’ management, though have been unsuccessful up to now.

It is believed that the player is keen on a move away in order to gain regular game-time, but with his future tied down at the club, his camp will need to make a push for a move before the close of the January transfer window.

“Justice Chabalala and his camp have tried but not yet met with Pirates or spoken to the club about the player’s future or his situation at the club. The player’s player s contract with Pirates ends in June and there have been no discussions that have taken place up to this point,” said the source.

Chippa United, who previously had the player in their team on loan from Bucs, are believed to be keen on re-signing the defender on another loan deal. However, the Port Elizabeth-based club’s pursuit of the former Free State Stars defender’s signature has yielded no positive results so far, according to sources.

So far in the current transfer window, the Chilli Boys have managed to sign only Phetso Maphanga from Bucs on a loan deal until the end of the 2018/19 season.

“From their side, the player (Chabalala) and his management are in no hurry of anything and are waiting on Pirates to make a decision. The club (Pirates) has an option of a further two years to extend the player’s deal. The option has not yet been exercised,” concluded the source.
