Downs star told to impress while on loan… or else!

-

Mamelodi Sundowns have set some stringent conditions for 22-year-old Katlego Otladisa if he still hopes to have a future at the club, this according to a source close to the deal.

The Brazilians sent the winger on loan to National First Division outfit Cape Umoya United last month, for the remainder of the season, but some of the expectations are that he commands a regular place and becomes a key player for the Capebased club over the next six months.

Following his move, Siya sources informed the Siya crew that the skilful player has joined Umoya in search of game-time and a return to fitness, and emphasized that the next six months will be telling for his future at Downs.

The source explained that Otladisa has to be included in the starting eleven and play in a predetermined amount of games with Umoya for the second half of the season, and if he does not, Downs will again send him out on loan next season.

Otladisa recently recovered from a horrible leg break that kept him out for most of last year as he watched Platinum Stars fail to avoid relegation. His move to Umoya is a reunion of some sorts – Stars relocated to Cape Town following the drop to the NFD and the new owners changed the name.

Otladisa, a bright prospect, has a long-term contract with Sundowns, but faces the prospect of spending g most of that time out on loan at various clubs if he does not remind coach Pitso Mosimane of what he can offer.

He was signed in January of 2018 and loaned back to Dikwena, before heading to Chloorkop at the start of the 2018/19 campaign.
