SSU INTEREST BATTED AWAY BY HIGHLANDS YOUNGSTER

-

Mokete Mogaila’s agent has shut down any rumours of the attacker making a move to SuperSport United, insisting that the 23-yearold is more than happy at Highlands Park.

Mogaila landed himself a deal with the Lions of the North last month after he impressed in the Varsity Cup last year, with the club beating off reported competition from a number of other top-flight clubs in the country.

There has been some talk in the football fraternity that Matsatsantsa have been impressed with what they’ve seen from the young attacker since he made his Absa Premiership debut in November, and that they could look to potentially make a move for his signature at some point in the future.

However, the Siya crew spoke to Gerald Baloyi, of Vodia Players Management and Marketing, who explained that the former University of Johannesburg star has no intention of moving on.

Baloyi told the crew, “Highlands Park are the team that gave Shaun the opportunity, so we won’t be considering any sort of move at this time… He’s happy at Highlands Park and he has a long-term contract with them. I’m happy with how the club have been dealing with him, and he’s enjoying his time there.”

Mogaila has played against Polok- wane City, SuperSport and Orlando Pirates since stepping into professional football last year, and he will no doubt be hoping to play his part in helping his side secure their Absa Premiership status come the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
