Zungu to reopen contract talks after big-money interest

-

Bongani Zungu is expected to open up contract talks with Amiens SC once again, in the coming weeks, but only once he’s got himself back to full fitness for his club in Ligue 1.

The Siya crew recently reported that Chinese Super League side, Hebei China Fortune, has made an enquiry about the availability of the Bafana Bafana international, however he turned down any advances as he looks to continue making a name for himself in Europe.

Hebei currently have the likes of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Mascherano on their books, as well as Chris Coleman as their coach, and they were considering a move that could see Zungu join them in Langfang.

Having returned to full training last week, after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious injury, the 26-year-old is focused on getting back in the side to help his team try and avoid relegation, and not – at this point – his future.

Amiens confirmed last year that th hey intended to offer him

new and improved conract at the club despite his cuurrent deal only expiring inn 2021, though those talks were put on ice as he decided o dedicate his time to his reecovery.

Now though, with a return to action drawing closer, the crew has been led to believe that contract talks could open up once again in the coming weeks once he has managed to win back his place in Christophe Pélissier’s side.
