Mido’s big payday

Downs have the ability to pay the big-money salaries. They are not the only club that pays well, with all of the PSL giants known to pay big for the star player – however, it is believed that as an average in a squad, Downs’ salary structure is the highest in the country.

Downs do pay well, an admission made – repeatedly – by coach Mosimane over the years.

And Maluleka, a father of two and now in his 30s, will be very well aware of that.

The Siya crew understands that he is currently not among the high earners at Chiefs, a category of players who are collecting well over R3 million per annum. At Sundowns, he will not only be getting the prestige of being a marquee signing, but the chance to add to this trophy cabinet – and his bank account.

The Brazilians already have several players in that bracket and it shouldn’t be that difficult to get ‘Mido’ into that grade as well.
