The Lebese factor

Maluleka and Lebese, besides being teammates at Chiefs for three years prior to the latter moving to Sund downs,, are still in the same circle of friends.

They talk, and there’s no question that Lebese’s ordeal at Chloorkop would have been discussed at some point. If Maluleka is to contemplate leaving a club where he is for the most part comfortable and is one of the prominent figures in the dressing room for one where his friend (and Toni Silva) have alleged is toxic, then Lebese’s first-hand experience will come in handy. If Lebese was talking about depression and not having anyone to talk to, as well as Mosimane’s empty promises, whose word will Maluleka take: the club that is pursuing him or that of his close friends? Sundowns will have to pull out all the stops to convince Maluleka that he is wanted given the Lebese dynamic. But it’s a completely different story if ‘Mido’ backs himself to deliver in a highly competitive environment.
