The Zwane sacrifice

It remains to be seen whether Chiefs, should they eventually decide not to offer Maluleka a new dea l and stopp ping him from contemplating a move to Chloorkop, would then test Sundowns’ resolve by asking for Zwane in exchange.

‘Mshishi’ still has a contract that will run until 2021 and is no doubt a highly influential player at Chloorkop – but, again, so is Maluleka at Chiefs.

Zwane has been a constant feature for the Brazilians this season, only missing out either through injury or Mosimane’s rotation policy given their domestic and continental commitments.

The Siya crew was informed in December 2018 that rumours at Chloorkop had surfaced, indicating that Zwane could be leaving the Brazilians; however, on further investigation, officials close the player poured cold water over the rumours.

He’s an important player to Sundowns, that much is very clear.

Could they be tempted into letting him go as a way to convince Chiefs to allow ‘Mido’ to leave?
