Supporter perspective…

-

Does hope spring eternal among the Bucs faithful following the loss to Esperance? Is their team going to capitulate, as they have watched them do so many times before when it matters most, not only in the Champions League but in domestic cup competitions as well? According to the wisdom of Jwarha, the cool, calm, collected and much-respected Pirates supporter, it’s far from over.

“Step by step, I think our team is getting there, but eish, luck hasn’t been on our side. The team is performing very well, but there are things that are still not working out. As supporters, we will never give up hope that our team will win something this season. We have two titles to fight for – the league and the Champions League and those two are very important to everyone that loves Orlando Pirates Football Club. In the Champions League, we are left with two games – against FC Platinum and Horoya – and I think we have a good chance to qualify. We need to beat Platinum here at home before we go out to play Horoya. We still have a chance, but we need to show up and win. We did let ourselves down when we failed to win at home and, now, we have to fight for points and it’s not easy against these other African teams. I don’t know what the real problem is and why we didn’t get all three points at home, but we’ve put ourselves in a difficult situation, you see? All is not lost and I believe in our players. We have their backs and we are going to support them through this. We are their 12th player and we want them to know that we the real supporters of Pirates will never leave them to fight alone. We will be there to support our boys and we know that we will win something soon.”
