The former Chelsea and Liverpool academy player arrived with big expectations and left in a media storm over his open letter to Pitso Mosimane. He left the club after just 11 appearances and two goals in a Sundowns shirt. His letter included a complaint about never being used in his best position as a right winger, but Downs don’t play with genuine wide men so Pitso moved him into a false nine position. He actually looked good in his role at times, scoring against Cape Town City and AmaZulu in his second and third starts for the club. Benni McCarthy said in August that he was “world class”, “a class above most players we have” and a “superstar”. Sadly, that never materialised at Masandawana and perhaps his attitude and work rate just did not match his talent. 6/10
