Maritzburg to return for Ngoma?

-

According to Siya sources, Maritzburg United could look to return for Mamelodi Sundowns’ Aubrey Ngoma.

As reported, the Sundowns winger was on the verge of completing a loan move to Maritzburg during the January transfer window – however, it is believed that during the final hours, Sundowns pulled the plug and the deal fell through.

At the time, it was revealed by Siya sources that coach Pitso Mosimane wants depth in his squad, considering the Brazilians’ congested fixture list and the growing number of injuries in the team as the defending Premiership champions contest for silverware both domestically and on the African continent.

However, it seems that Ngoma’s chances at regular game-time are still looking slim. The player was left out of Sundowns’ recent CAF Champions League squad that travelled to the Ivory Coast.

During the January transfer window, Sundowns had the opportunity to register more players for their CAF CL campaign, however, with the player having been left out of the recent travelling squad, indications are that Ngoma may have once again not been registered for the competition.

There could be light at the end of the tunnel for Ngoma, with Siya sources revealing that Maritzburg are keeping a close eye on the player’s situation at Sundowns, with indications that the club could look to approach Masandawana once again for the player ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, should they survive the dreaded drop to the NFD.

Ngoma played some of his best football under the mentorship of coach Eric Tinkler, during the duo’s time at Cape Town City in the 2016/17 campaign, and the two could be reunited in Pietermaritzburg.
