R1 million for Chiefs to land Tshepe?
Kaizer Chiefs will have to open up their chequebook if they are to land Black Leopards’ Karabo Tshepe, with the club eager to make sure that they don’t risk losing another one of their players on a free transfer.
Lidoda Duvha are set to lose both Phathutshedzo Nange and Marks Munyai, to Bidvest Wits and Highlands Park respectively, at the end of the season after both opted to sign pre-contract deals elsewhere in the Absa Premiership - decisions believed to have upset the management in Limpopo.
With Tshepe having now attracted interest from the Glamour Boys ahead of the next transfer window, the Siya crew has been informed that it will take a fee of upwards of R1 million for the club to even consider selling their tricky attacker.
The crew reported last week that Chiefs had made an enquiry about the 30-year-old number 10, and that they were considering a move for him when the July/August transfer window opens up at the end of the season. Despite his age, Chiefs are reportedly keen on him.
Tshepe still has two years left to run on his current deal in Thohoyandou, so his current employers are well within their rights to ask for whatever fee they deem fit for a player of his talents, and some of his performances this season have warranted a rise in his value.
Siya sources have suggested that Leopards could be open to letting the attacker leave at the end of the season, but only if a prospective buyer – whether that be Chiefs or another club – are willing to match their valuation of the former Magesi FC man.
