Agent sets record straight on Zwane’s Sundowns exit talks

-

There has been talk in the local media about Themba Zwane being linked with a move away from Mamelodi Sundowns, however, the player’s representative has set the matter straight.

Talks about Zwane’s immediate future at Sundowns have been making the rounds in the local football fraternity, with the word being that Kaizer Chiefs are one of the potential suitors who are interested in possibly luring the player into their camp at the end of the season.

Chiefs have previously shown interest in the midfielder, with Siya sources revealing in the past that Amakhosi were looking at proposing a potential swap deal at the time, which would have seen George Maluleka join the Brazilians and Zwane go in the opposite direction.

However, according to the player’s representative, Jazzman Mahlakgane, the 29-yearold will not be leaving the Brazilians any time soon. He is contracted to the club, and the defending PSL champions do have an option in place.

“Themba is still contracted to Sundowns until 2020 with an option of another year. There has been no talk about the player leaving the club. Mshishi is currently the heartbeat of Sundowns and I don’t see any way the team will let him go,” Mahlakgane told the Siya crew.

Zwane has been one of Sundowns’ standout performers so far this season, making 24 appearances in all competitions for the Brazilians, having scored five and assisted in five goals.
